Why Has My Tumble Dryer Belt Snapped

If your tumble dryer has stopped turning, the most common reason is a broken tumble dryer belt. A belt that has snapped will have been under too much stress, causing it to snap or burn. If you inspect your old belt you may see that the belt is in good condition but has been burnt in one place, just where its snapped. This is because at some point the drum was not turning, but the motor pulley was spinning, trying to move the drum. This friction will create heat and cause the belt to snap. Worn bearings, siezed drum, possible pump blockage are some of the reasons for this, unfortunatly the main reason for the drum not turning is overloading with wet clothes, but nobody does this, do they!
